Hop Dogs Dance - July 26th

Last month we had a pretty good turn out! I know many people are on vacation this month even me and my family! We always have an incredible time. I DJed the family dance at San Francisco’s Camp Mather Family Camp and had a blast. Parents and kids were dancing and singing the lyrics of the songs. The outdoor deck that we danced on was vibrating up and down to the beat. Everyone danced and improvised to the music and screamed and hooted when they heard their favorite song. Sure was FUN!!! So come out July 26th to Hop Dogs! i don’t mind if you hoot, holler, sing or improvise your steps. “That’s what it’s all about!” (Lyrics from the Hokey Pokey)

ODC Dance Commons are squeezed for space on Saturdays so classes are being moved around. We have been moved to Skirball Studio (the studio with the windows downstairs). We will be starting 15 minutes later so our start time will be 5:30pm instead of 5:15pm. So far it hasn’t affected our fun time so come for another great Hop Dogs July 26th. The formal lesson is 15 mins but I teach and dance the whole time so if you want to know any of the dance moves just come over to the DJ area and ask!

Hop Dogs Dance June 28th

Last Month, WOW! did we have a GREAT turnout! Thanks for all who came and danced. The energy was really high! Let’s do it AGAIN! See you Saturday June 28th!! Bring your dancin’ feet!

Special Note about our admission cost:
To keep Hop Dogs sustainable for the long term, we have reluctantly decided to raise our prices. Our introductory price has not kept up with growing costs of running our event. However, we are committed to keeping Hop Dogs affordable for all families. Beginning with the February dance, we will introduce a sliding scale of $6 to $10 per person. When considering your family’s admission, we ask that you think about the typical cost for a night out at the movies, a show, or a trip to the museum. We will not turn anyone away for lack of ability to pay.

Last month we introduce the Hop Dogs community bulletin board, a space where parents can post notices about sharecares, needing/getting rid of baby stuff, and other kid-friendly events. Stop by the board to add your contribution!

We are so grateful for the community’s enthusiasm about Hop Dogs, and we hope to be able to provide this wonderful experience for kids and families for years to come. See you at Hop Dogs!

It’s time for another HOP DOGS Saturday May 31st. Last month was a little slower that normal but we were competing with the weather outside. It was an exceptionally beautiful day, but those who did show up danced until closing. So come on out and join us Saturday May 31st, we will have a BLAST!!

Hop Dogs Dance Feb 23rd 2008

Thanks everyone for the great turnout last week (Jan 26th). We all had a blast! The parents had as much fun as the kids dancing and playing. Especially when the adults spontaneously bridged their bodies to form a tunnel for the kids to crawl under. We always review the dances: The Monkey, The Fly, Twist, The Pony, The Swim (for the kids). Mash Potato, Charleston, Step Touch for the adults. This week we added The Bird, Funky Chicken, The Boxer step, Rock Steady. Can’t wait for February to do it all again!! Don’t Miss it!
